Happy St. Patricks Day

Time to sober up and start drinking. As far as I can tell as a non-irish observer, St. Patrick was the patron saint of drinking beer and whisky for breakfast?

Old Dresser Departure

This dresser arrived ~30 years ago as a gift for my first communion when I was 7 years old. Its now returned back to my childhood room. My parents bought it for me at Calvin's Furniture in Kenmore, NY. The brand was Young Hinckley.

I loved the dresser as a kid because of the cubby hole in the front. It used to have a door that turned it into a sort of treasure chest in my eyes.

My first pet tortoise used to live under the dresser. I wonder if it will miss me.

New Dresser Arrived

The new dresser arrived this morning. The bed comes in april but they gave us a metal frame to use in the meantime. Its thr first time since I was a child that my matress wasn't just on the floor.

The mirror on the new dresser is awesome. I kind of wish we got the nightstand too but it was just too damn expensive.

When I picked this strangler out from in between the bushes at her old house, I never expected it to grow roots but I has over the winter. Now to see if I can plant it in the spring.

Little Rock City

We had such a fun time climbing at Little Rock City in Ellicottville. It was 60 and sunny with snow up to my knees. It felt so great to be in the sun. Strangely Ellicottville was having Mardi Gras today. All the places were decorated for Mardi Gras and people were wearing beads.

(e:robert) is so adventurous. He climbed all up on everything and he and (e:terry) wrestled the day away. Then we had yummy food at the Ellicotville Brewery Company.

"wild caught"

Why are the quotes required around "wild caught" if it is a statement of fact they shouldn't be needed.

Dangmyeon

I seriously can't stop eating Dangmyeon which are clear Korean noodles made out of sweet potato starch. They come in different colors. I like the purple ones that are made with purple sweet potatoes. I love both the way they look and the texture. They are so delicious and cheap that I eat them with just about every meal I make at home. They are also gluten free.

Japchae is a dish made with those noodles, sesame oil and sauteed vegtables. The combination is fantastic. We always get it when we go to Korea House @ 402 Evans St in Williamsville, NY.

I decided to look up more info on how the noodles are actually made when I came across this blog post where a woman describes her love for the dish as well that I found quite entertaining.

I love how pretty it is. There, I said it. Japchae is very attractive. I am attracted to japchae. I have a crush on japchae. I want to go on a date and pay significantly more attention to my noodles than the dude. I feel like there's someone out there who might actually be turned on by that.

They remind me so much of the mung bean cellophane noodles I buy from china but those ones started to freak me out after I read about some contamination issues with manufacturers trying to cut costs using corn starch and introducing cancerous chemicals. It makes me want to buy less chinese products
