Hodown Visit

So now that I got my cell-phone to work with my journal again, I can update with some photos (e:lilho) 's birthday visit. There arn't that many as I was not so motivated to take photos when I couldn't send them right away but here they are.

Basically it involved eating and chillaxing [search]chillax[/search] We had pigwings for the first time at fat bob's, I will write a review about it sometime today. They looked like giant 8ozchicken drumsticks but we really some port cut. They cam with tasty homemade chunky blue cheese sauce. I would suggest them to anyone who likeboth pork ribs and chicken wings.

This is from Internet Explorer 5 on Mac

This browser sucks so bad it makes me want to puke. Unfortunately, some people were giving me slack for not supporting it. So instead of making it not work at all as I did in the past, you can now use it at your own risk. However, I will not be working to make it look pretty as even the browser's creator (microsoft) has dropped all support for it.

UPDATE: I changed my mind, get a real browser.

My life as an audio artist poser

Today I class I had to teach how to make audio art. As most of you know this is not my thing, all though I like to think I can do all things computer related. Here is the test example I made during class.

Stupid Day

(e:maidencateyes) , [inlink]maidencateyes,198[/inlink] I agree today was a stupid day. Everything I did turned out bad. I mad a bunch of crappy mistakes, one after another and ironically, my fly was also down the entire class but I couldn't zipper it up cause I didn't want to look like I was touching myself, argh!

Seriously, everything that could have went wrong during my class today, I don't think that has ever happend. Everything was the wrong format, wouldn't download, server went down, plugin wouldn't work, student project wouldn't open, etc. I was just wrong and I am glad it is over.

On another note, I realized today that at one point I was chatting with (e:twisted) on my way into the men's room. I wonder if that is the first time a woman accompanied me (be it virtually) into the rest room where we continued to have a conversation as I peed. This is pretty normal with guys - so why not include woman virtually. I know you are all saying just put down the freakin' sidekick and get a life already.

Weimar Here I Come

Today I went to go see professor Ralf Homann from the Bauhausd-Universitaet in Weimar speak about their Experimental Radio MFA program in Weimar. I want to go back top Weimar so bad, especially if I could do it as an exchange student for the summer. I have this special place in my heart for Thueringen.

Here is a to their page. If you speak German check out the Giardini vs Arsenale, it reminds me oh so much of the chipcrunks from our elmwood radio hawaiin christmas special.

Check out the elmwood radio to listen to what elmwood sounded like in 2003. I promise it's scandalous.

The Movies are Lame

Those of you that know me, know that I go to the movies about once a year so this might be biased. In fact the last movie I saw was The Lord of The Rings 2 at the theater. Yesterday I was convinced to go see that stupid puppet movie called Team America. It was the worst piece of crap movie I have ever seen.

[size=m]The Twenty[/size]
What bothered me even more is "The Twenty." Has anyone seen this? In the twenty minutes before the previews they play commercials for products like SUVs, TV shows, etc. It was crazy, at the end of the twenty, they recap and go through everything they talked about and say if you missed it make sure to come a full twenty minutes early next time so you can enjoy the whole thing. Instead of thanking you for watching their commercial crap, they are telling you how to better perform the observation next time. When did this start?

Not to mention that our snacks cost $22.75 and were worth a total of about $3.00 in terms of product.

What Happend This Weekend

So much happend that I couldn't even keep up with my journal for once.

First it was (e:lilho) 's 21st birthday which brought (e:hodown) to town and for those of you that know her, you know it means a weird mix of relaxing and stress. Kind of like sweet and sour, haha. But she is part Chinese so that makes sense in a way.

So I forgot that my account at the server that hosts elmwoodstrip.comm ran out on Sunday, the same time the elmwoodstrip.org server was being updated. So I had a window of about 5 hours to move it all on Sunday after a night of partying. That was oh so fun, it wasn't just a simple move to a server with the same setup, it was huge switch, changing platforms and PHP versions. It was harrowing but luckily I had practiced with the new version of PHP on my laptop's mini server and on the buffalo.kicks-ass.org server so I kind of new what problems to expect.

(e:hodown) tried to kill me with smoke inhalation during the middle of programming but I was able to get through it and add google services to the search. Now if you search for say "checken" and no results come up on the site it asks you if you meant "chicken," it also gives you ten google results for what you are searching for. Basically the search is much better now.

There are so many new surprises and capabilities that will come out now that we have a new server with lots of new modules to work with. I have to go finish working on stuff right now.

Political Voice Mail

I really cannot stand political junk voice mail. Is anyone else getting this trash on their phones. I really think that it should be illegal. I have been thinking about cutting my phoneline once and for all and this just adds to that feeling. It is so expensive to have a phone. I think we pay $40/month with no extra services and I honestly answer/listen to the phone only 1 in 20 calls. You could have a sweet cellphone plan for that much money.
